Q&A About the Best Home Business Opportunity?

What Is The Best Home Business Opportunity?

We received the following question from one of my blogger readers in response to my previous post.

"Interesting post. I like this, because I'm planning to run a business soon. It's been a dream of mine, and I'm ready to make that a reality. I've become more interested in buying a business, possibly home-based, instead of starting one from scratch. Any suggestions? Advice? Thanks." Katie H

My answer to Katie H
Owning a business can be exciting. Yet it can be complicated undertaking and overwhelming experience. It requirs many consideration and finacial planning. Most of all, you have to know what you are getting into. There are a lot of home based business opportunities in the internet however, many people start at home business without mental preparation and 95% people fail or give up within a year. People often start a business out of frustration with their current job or employment situation. That is not a good idea to start a business. Either way however, consider your true motivations for pursuing the home based business.

Starting a new business from scratch is riskier and requires careful market research because it's unknown. You have to figure out how much capital you have and budget the cost of everything you will need to start your business. Plan conservatively regarding income and expenses. Most businesses fail in the first two years because they are undercapitalized. Many business owners tend to underestimate the time how long it takes to be profitable. Thus they become financially vulnerable if they end up living off the money that should be paying the overhead or by using credit cards. It's a financial disaster and should be avoided.

Buying a business with an estabilishment can give you an guidance. It all depends upon what kind of business you are interested in. If you are thinking of buying an internet home based business whether it's a product or a service, you need to find a business with a website that is SEO (Search Engine Optimization) friendly. So you don't need to spend a lot of your time in building SEO for your website.

One thing, we suggest however, avoid getting financially involved in things you don't know anything about whether starting a home based business from scratch or buying a business from the estabilishment.

You have to evaluate your commitment for operating your business. If your main concern is your family and marriage, you have to put that in your consideration. Either starting a business from the scratch or buying a home business requires physical and emotional energy and time. The price you pay to succeed is your own judgment.

Success doesn't come without investment of time and resources. The price is not negotiable; either you do what is required or you don't. Each situation is different and issues won't apply with the same significance.

Remember, whichever you decide to own a home based business, it requires your due diligence, perseverance and dedication. However, being in business for yourself can be rewarding and you should enjoy every step of the process and running it.

We wish Katie H the best of luck and success.
